Welcome
This is the Sony Media Go Digital Archive, a central point for downloading all possible versions of Sony Creative Software's media management platform. Originally, this page hosted the latest version of Media Go with the standalone Video Playback Engine, until it was decided to host XP-compatible versions of this software.
Quick Download
You can use these quick links if you are not familiar with Internet Archive's basic file viewer.
About Media Go
Media Go is an useful tool for managing your media files (e.g. music, video, pictures and saved games) between your PC and your PSP, Sony Ericsson and Xperia devices. It also integrates a native UPnP media server, CD ripping and burning, SensMe(TM) sorting and video conversion for portable devices. Curiously enough, the software shares structural similarities with other SCS programs like Sony Vegas Pro.

Activating the Internal Debug Menu
Activating the Internal Debug Menu
To activate the secret Internal menu in Media Go, you must run the application at least once. Point your file explorer to "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Media Go" and modify the Prefs.xml file adding the following lines before the closure of the </PREFS> line:
<PREF name="fCullMenuInternalTools" type="Bool">
<VERSION>1</VERSION>
<VALUE>FALSE</VALUE>
</PREF>The menu will reside in Tools > Internal the next time you open Media Go. Among its features, users can toggle between the default or in-development skin (default.skn and scc.skn respectively). For a high-contrast skin, visit MGNightSkin's repo.
About the Video Playback Engine
The Video Playback Engine is a separate plugin for Media Go 3.2 which enabled advanced playback and trascoding features to the software. VPE was not bundled into the Media Go Installer, it was downloaded during the installation of version 3.2. As of March 2019, the Media Go servers went offline, leaving the main application without the ability to manage, play, transfer or convert video files. This file can be found in open directories under the name of sdkupdate.exe.

Using Fiddler,
the original URL of the Video Playback Engine was captured during the
installation of Media Go. Such URL was used in the Wayback Archive
hoping to find the lost file. Effectively, the aforementioned procedure
worked, and the Video Playback Engine installer was downloaded and
preserved here.
A local cached copy of the Video Playback Engine was found and uploaded to the site. There are slightly no differences in regards to the prior uploaded build.
